Next possible projects…

We got the following suggestions for our next project, based upon the Giana Engine:

  • Montezumas Revenge
  • Superfrog
  • Super Mario Bros.
  • Hard’n’Heavy
  • Mr. Nutz
  • Wonderboy
  • “Own creation”

In fact we already had made our minds up before we asked this question, but you never know if there are any good suggestions :) …

Higest possible is a “Hard’n’Heavy” type game with own influences – so it will be a mix of “Hard’n’Heavy” along with “own influences” ;) The coder has showed his interest in a H’n’H type game and it would perfectly fit for the engine, as there wouldn’t be too many things to change.

This time we will put a little bit less effort in the game, so things will speed up dramatically. Music doesn’t need to be exclusive we think, but it should be definatly finest chiptunes from the demoscene. The backgrounds will NOT be handdrawn, this simply eats up too much time as we have seen with Giana’s Return.

Anyway… let’s finish Giana’s Return for now! Stay tuned!

PS: To the guy who suggested “Super Mario Bros.”… we don’t want to get our arses kicked by big N :) So this is a 100% no go.

Pixelstories

If you can’t catch someone to do work, you have to do it yourself, right? We can’t catch your main pixel artist, so we are doing it on our own now, actualy and luckily only non animated objects, so it’s not too though.

So far we have improved the first level of the first world – as soon as we have something to show, be sure to see it here :)

A finished engine and it’s possibilities…

Considering we have a fully working jump and run engine, which just requires some more minor tweaks, there are possibilities to create other jump and run games based upon the same engine. After Giana’s Return… what would be the next sequel you would like to see… or would you prefer something “own”? Let us know via the comment function!

Beta-Status

We had a few beta’s in the meantime and bug-killing is still going ahead. Worst of all… we can’t reach our musician operator at the moment for sfx and music finetuning, but we can do many other things first – so time isn’t lost at all.

Titlescreen modifications…

Some of our team-members are currently improving the titlescreen once again, tho there are plenty other things we should do first ;) Too bad you need proper mood to do certain things :D

Please don’t apply for Beta-Testing anymore, thanks :)

Our Beta-Testing Team is complete, please understand that too many cooks would give the soup a bad taste. Thanks for your understanding and your support!

Progress, progress, progress…

It’s going forward… today we expect a preview of the second last background from Jayne. This means all gfx work is almost done, beside finetuning.

Finetuning, the horror of every game developer!

The game is comming along very nice at the moment, but finetuning is a pain in the a** :) We try to re-think some issues, to give everything a proper and better optical touch.

And the bug killing has started :)

19 issues are known in the bugtracker, our coder has already resolved some of the smaller problems! Great work Mr. Coder! Hipp Hipp Hooray! Also Kudos to our bug-tester Mulle from Germany. You might check out his personal page here.
